  • SMG. Traditional (picking, alcoholic fermentation, pressing, maturation). The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel, then the wine matures for 12 months in French oak barrels.

Story behind the label: The Babylon's Peak wine estate is named after the high granite peak on the estate, better known to locals as ' The Babylonstoren'. The letters 'SMG' stand for the grape varieties Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache ;  originally grape varieties from the French Rhône. In South Africa this makes a combination, a blend and an excellent mix.
  • Red wine - Powerful, complex and full. Purple, deep color; intense with spices such as cinnamon nicely refined next to the fruit aromas. Ripe, firm, sultry wine with pleasantly soft mouthfeel and nice suppleness. Very refined with nicely integrated acids. The ripeness is tasted elegantly and with finesse. Very well made.
  • Our sommeliers:

Good with rich stews with deep flavours, hearty game dishes with roasted flavours and grilled and baked rib steak with a hearty sauce. Also delicious dry and red sauces.

  • WINNERS WIN: Awarded the Medaille d'Or by the Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards South Africa.

Bubbels

Lekkere witte wijn alleen mis je de bubbels. Je mag verwachten dat er meer bubbels in zitten.

Top champagne

Mooi in balans met een heerlijke bubbel.
