The company Drouet Frères (1880) is one of the oldest trading houses, originally located in the Nantes district . The sales were initially focused on the trade in mass wines. When the region was promoted to appellation d'origine contrôlée in 1938, the company strategy changed and sales focused exclusively on the production and sale of fresh white wines such as Muscadet. In 1950, the company came into the hands of the two grandsons, Jacques and Jean . From that moment on, it was called Drouet Frères (the Drouet brothers). The third generation, Jean Philippe Drouet, took over the management in 1981. He decided to hand over the commercial branch of the company in order to devote himself entirely to his passion: winemaking and vineyard management. He strives to make wine with a clear expression of terroir. By means of environmentally friendly winemaking without the use of chemical pesticides. The house is affiliated with the Terra Vitis organisation. Drouet started a second trading house in 1982, in Spain in the region of Castilla y León. Castilla y León is, geographically, the largest of the seventeen autonomous regions of Spain, and is located in the northwest of the country. From here, Drouet has a wide distribution of its wines and, partly by establishing itself in Spain, ensures that its range has a worldwide reputation.

Castile and León, two Spanish regions, border Asturias and Cantabria to the north, the Basque Country , La Rioja and Aragon to the east, Madrid and Castilla la Mancha to the southeast , Extremadura to the south , and Portugal and Galicia to the west . The capital of the autonomous region is Valladolid. Castilla y León has a Mediterranean climate that is much less influenced by the Mediterranean Sea than the more easterly places in Spain. As a result, temperature extremes are more common here and the average temperatures are somewhat further apart. In the summer months it is warm here with average daytime temperatures above thirty degrees Celsius. In the winter months night frost occurs regularly here, although this is usually not of a long-lasting nature. The average rainfall here is low and the summer months are even particularly dry.
