CHANTERÊVES; GERMAN PRECISION MEETS JAPANESE ATTENTION.

In the suburbs of Savigny-les-Beaune, under a modern house , are the fairly new and spacious cellars of Chanterêves. The small estate was founded and owned by the Japanese Tomoko Kuriyama ; she received her education at the famous wine university in Geisenheim, Germany. The Japanese by birth spread her wings after graduating and became 'estate manager' at the well-known Rheingau Estate, Friedrich Altenkirch. She met her French husband Guillaume Bott in Germany. He was then working at Etienne Sauzet, but later left for the wine estate of Simon Bize, also located in Savigny-Les-Beaune. Together they have a wealth of experience , they complement each other's competences, share each other's knowledge and bring out the best in the Chanterêves wine estate. A combination of German precision , Japanese attention and French knowledge of the region, the tradition and the wines of the region. The original name of the wine estate was 'Chanterives', but this name conflicted in some respects with the name of another wine producer in the region; this is why the name was changed to Chanterêves; a reference to the dream that came true for them together.

THE BEST PIECE OF BURGUNDY

Chanterêves is located in Savigny-les-Beaune , upstream on both sides of the Rhône valley . The vineyard is 350 hectares and extends to the 'beginning' of the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy. To clarify, Burgundy is divided into 4 sub-areas: Chablis, Côte d'Or, Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais. Côte de Beaune is the southern part of Côte d'Or, in which Savigny-les-Beaune is located. The area has its own appellation and produces approximately 17,000 hectoliters of red wines, mainly Pinot Noir and white wines, mainly Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, per year. Burgundy is known for its great variety of soil types and microclimates . From predominantly chalky soils to marl, iron, clay and loam. In any case, Burgundy has various soil layers. Together with the cool climate, this ensures a balanced, slow ripening of the grapes.

PURE, CLEAN & DELICATE

The wines of Chanterêves are of exceptionally beautiful quality . Pure, with subtle concealment of the fruit. Transparent they also call it. The wines are completely free of any effects, manufactured influences and artificial vinification processes; precisely the clear character ensures that the wines are known on the market as very accessible Burgundies. The red wines in particular are more expressive in style, they really bring the terroir to light, unmasked beautiful earthy wines, extremely delicate , refined and energetic .

We understand that you can't wait to taste these great wines. Don't panic, Dare Wines has included them all in our Sommelier Selection.
